I have heard about ‘forced heirs’ in Italy, how can I make sure my property goes to the people I want it to go to?

According to Italian law an inheritance quota is reserved for close family members such as children and spouses. In principle, such individuals cannot be excluded from the inheritance unless very strict conditions are met. If you intend to exclude a forced heir from your Will, it is strongly advisable to engage an Italian lawyer to ensure your wishes are fulfilled.
